First Five Competition Terms and Conditions
This competition is open to members of The Horsepower Club only.
Members will be automatically entered into the First Five competition when they sign up to The Horsepower Club.
The closing date for entries is 31/12/20.
Entrants will be scored based on where their horse finishes in 50 selected races across the calendar, the winner of the competition will be the entrant with the most cumulative points come to the end of racing on 26/12/2021.
Entrants will be scored 100 points if their horse finishes 1st, 50 for 2nd, 30 for 3rd, 20 for 4th and 10 for 5th, if a horse finishes worse than 5th the entrant will receive 0 points.
Entrants can only submit one pick per race.
The races for the competition will be selected by The Horsepower Club.
Entries for each selected race will be open from 11 am the previous day.
The deadline for the race picks will be 11 am on the day of racing, after which submissions for the race will be closed.
If entrants fail to submit a pick before the 11 am deadline, they will be given 0 points for the race.
If the entrant’s pick is a non-runner they will be given the SP favourite, in the event of joint favourites the entrant will be given the runner with the lowest racecard number.
The prize for the winner of the competition is the second-hand Aston Martin Vantage Convertible (2016) pictured on our competition page unless the threshold of 600 entries isn’t met, in which case The Horsepower Club reserves the right to supplement a cash prize of £50 x the number of entrants to the winner.
A cash prize will also be given to the 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th placed entrants come the 26/12/2021. This cash prize will be their points equivalent in £’s, for example, if 2nd place earnt 2000 points their cash prize would be £2000.
The Horsepower Club reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
The number of entrants will be available for all members to see on the competition page.
The Horsepower Club reserves the right to disqualify any entrants in the event of a termination of their membership to The Horsepower Club.
By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
